Ricardo Ferreira

Compositor Supervisor and Professor

Ricardo is an award-winning Digital Compositor working in the cinematography industry since 2009. He made part of the team that won the Oscar for best Visual Effects in 2014 for Gravity, 2015 for Interstellar, and in 2016 for Ex-Machina.
He has been working on both areas, film and commercial projects for Industrial Light Magic, DesignStudio, Cinesite, Prime Focus, MPC, DoubleNegative, Trixter, Polarmedia, Netflix and Amazon.
Before starting his VFX career, he finished a master's degree in Architecture and worked as a 3d Artist with 3ds Max/Maya and Vray for Architectural Visualisation. This work required him to have the skills to look at things from both a technical and aesthetic viewpoint, which is something he believes is the key to being successful in the Visual Effects industry.
Ricardo is a Board Manager at VES (Visual Effects Society, UK) and is also a Compositor Supervisor.

Fernando Galdon

Professor at the School of Design, Royal College of Art (London, UK)
Fernando Galdon is a design practitioner, researcher and educator investigating the design of trust. He holds a BA Product Design, an MSc Cognitive Computing and a MRes Design, as well as, a PhD in Design from the RCA, where he currently works as an Assistant Professor. His research has been published and presented internationally at conferences at MIT, the University of Cambridge, the University of Manchester, UNISINOS Brazil, CHUV Lausanne, EASD Valencia, Harvard, Politecnico di Milano or the Design Museum in London.
